How exchange quotes and fees work

Read the receiving amount, rate, minimum, and fee together.

UNDERSTAND THE FUNDAMENTALSA little learning. More confidence.

Begin with the complete result

An exchange quote estimates how much of the destination asset you receive for the sending amount. It may include a provider spread and a destination network fee. The quote should be compared for the same asset and network.

The displayed conversion rate is useful, but the net receiving amount is usually the clearest comparison between routes.

Why minimums exist

A network fee can be a significant part of a small transfer. Providers may therefore set minimum amounts for particular routes. A route that is available at one amount may be unavailable at another.

Enter an amount in the exchange form and read its validation message. If it is below the supported minimum, adjust it before continuing.

Timing matters

Quotes can expire, and floating estimates can change while a transfer is processed. Fixed quotes have their own deposit conditions. Request an updated quote when the details change.

In this installation, a visible demo label identifies sample pricing. A configured live provider can supply executable quotes subject to its own terms.

TAKE IT WITH YOU

Key takeaways

  • A quote is tied to an amount and a pair.
  • Fees and liquidity can affect the receiving amount.
  • Demo prices are illustrative rather than executable.
